Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is a premier leadership
development program dedicated to empowering young people with
essential leadership skills, boosting their self-confidence, and
fostering a deep understanding of service. Organized annually at
the District 9212 level (Kenya, Eritrea, Ethiopia, South Sudan),
RYLA Kenya brings together participants from diverse backgrounds
to engage in impactful activities, workshops, and discussions.
These experiences aim to enhance leadership potential, promote
teamwork, and instill a commitment to service.
RYLA provides a platform for young individuals to grow both
personally and professionally while connecting with like-minded
peers and mentors within the community. Each year, RYLA Kenya has
evolved to address current global challenges, ensuring that
participants not only develop critical leadership skills but also
learn to adapt and innovate. Our programs have included a mix of
workshops, interactive sessions, community service projects, and
networking opportunities, all designed to inspire and equip young
leaders to make a positive impact in their communities.

and potential leaders

- Encourage youth to make a difference in their communities
through volunteer work and social responsibility
Prepare for an enriching experience filled with opportunities to
learn, interact, and network. Participants will engage in:
1. Dynamic Workshops
2. Innovation Challenges
3. Storytelling and Communication: Master the art of
storytelling to inspire and advocate effectively.
4. Sustainability Projects: Develop and pitch
sustainability-focused initiatives that make a lasting
impact.
5. Leadership Panels.
Mini-RYLA programs are one-day sub-programs
designed to emulate the main RYLA LEAP program's activities
and lessons. These condensed programs aim to broaden the
impact of RYLA LEAP by reaching people who may not have the
capacity to attend the full 3 days program . Similar to the
main program, Mini-RYLA programs focus on empowering young
leaders with essential skills and knowledge to be an
innovative leader, while emphasizing the values of integrity,
honesty, trustworthiness, loyalty, respect, and care.
RYLA LEAP is targeting to impact over
1000 participants in the 5 regions. A mini
RYLA for interactors in high schools in Nairobi and Thika
region is also set to impact over 200 interactors. This will
help familiarize the interactors with Rotary Youth Leadership
Awards. The programs are set to take part regionally on the
following listed dates:
Coastal Region: 24th August
Mount Kenya Region : 7th September
Nakuru Region : 7th September
Western Region: 21st September
Nairobi Region : 5th October
The 3-day RYLA LEAP program is scheduled for 17th - 20th October
2024.
16th October NIGHT
Participants will travel to Kisumu.
Day 1: 17th October 2024
Day 1 of the Conference
Day 2: 18th October 2024
Official launch, team-building sessions, leadership workshop, and
innovation activities.
Day 3: 19th October 2024
Focus on sustainability initiatives, leadership in action, project
pitches, and Awards night.
Day 4: 20th October 2024
Feedback survey and travel back.
Participants learn effective leadership skills, embracing continuous education and fostering a learning culture.
Evolve In Innovation: Encourages participants to embrace innovation in their problem-solving approaches & adapting to technological advancements.
Adapt through effective communication & storytelling: Encourages participants to embrace innovation in their problem-solving approaches & adapting to technological advancements.
Propulsion of Sustainability: Equipping participants with skills & knowledge to lead sustainable projects & engage in strategic planning.
